Welcome to Indian Hill Elementary! Your child’s academic and social-emotional development during their years here is vital to their success. Together, we lay the foundation of each child’s academic and social/emotional presence in the world. The experiences that your child will have here at Indian Hill will set their path for success in school and in life. Our staff pledges to make "Academic Excellence and Social-Emotional Confidence" the centerpiece of every decision that is made toward a successful education.

While I am excited to be in my 10th year as principal at Indian Hill, I come into this year with the same excitement and motivation I brought here in my first year as principal. This is such an exciting year with the reconfiguration changes being made.  I know the value of a good education for children and while my experiences have reinforced this, I have the fortune of being married to my best friend, and together, we are the proud parents of two wonderful boys who are allowing me to see all perspectives of a child’s education. I keep my experiences as a parent of elementary-aged students in mind while making any decisions for your children and always ask myself, “Would I want this for my children?”.

We know that a great education is the gatekeeper of future success and a great home-to-school connection is the foundation! As parents, there are many ways you can be involved in the life of this school and the most important is setting a tone for the importance of why they are at school. Please take the time each day to read, play a game and talk about their experiences. These activities will help develop both academic and social skills that are vital to your child’s success.

Our goal in working with you is to ensure that we educate the Whole Child! Please reach out to me or your child’s teacher if there is any way we can support you in this important year!

¡Bienvenidos a la Escuela Primaria Indian Hill!

El desarrollo socioemocional y académico de su hijo(a) durante sus años aquí es vital para que logre el éxito. Juntos ponemos el fundamento de la presencia académica y socioemocional de cada niño en el mundo. Las experiencias que su hijo(a) tenga aquí en Indian Hill marcarán su camino hacia el éxito en la escuela y en la vida. Nuestro personal se compromete a hacer de la excelencia académica y la confianza socioemocional la pieza central de cada decisión que se tome hacia una educación exitosa.

Si bien estoy emocionado de estar en mi décimo año como director en Indian Hill, comienzo este año con el mismo entusiasmo y motivación con el que comencé en mi primer año como director. Este es un año muy emocionante con los cambios de reconfiguración que se están realizando. Conozco el valor de una buena educación para los niños y, aunque mis experiencias lo han reforzado, tengo la fortuna de estar casado con mi mejor amiga y juntos somos los padres orgullosos de dos niños maravillosos que me permiten ver todas las perspectivas de la educación de un niño. Tengo presente mis experiencia como padre de estudiantes de primaria al tomar decisiones para mis hijos y siempre me pregunto: "¿Querría esto para mis hijos?".

Sabemos que una gran educación es la puerta para éxitos en el futuro, ¡y una buena conexión entre el hogar y la escuela es el fundamento! Hay muchas maneras en las que pueden participar en la vida de esta escuela como padres, la más importante siendo marcar el tono de la importancia de la razón por la cual está su hijo(a) asistiendo a la escuela. Por favor tome un tiempo cada día para leer, jugar y hablar con su hijo(a) acerca de sus vivencias. Estas actividades ayudarán a que desarrolle habilidades académicas y sociales vitales para su éxito.

Dear Indian Hill Elementary Families,

My name is Stefanie Lukas, and I am thrilled to begin my first year at Indian Hill Elementary School! While this is my first year at Indian Hill, it is my 19th year in education, and I am honored to bring my experience and passion for learning to this amazing school community.

Throughout my career, I have always believed that education is most powerful when schools and families work together. One of my top priorities this year is to build strong, meaningful connections with students, families, and staff. I am committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels supported and valued, and where families feel like true partners in their child’s educational journey.

I can’t wait to get to know each of you, learn more about what makes Indian Hill special, and grow together as we support our students' academic, social, and emotional development. Whether it’s through classroom experiences, school events, or simply a conversation, I look forward to connecting with you and building lasting relationships.

Estimadas familias de Indian Hill,

Mi nombre es Stefanie Lukas, ¡y estoy emocionada por comenzar mi primer año en la Escuela Primaria Indian Hill! Aunque este es mi primer año en Indian Hill, tengo 19 años trabajando en educación y es un honor traer mi experiencia y pasión por el aprendizaje a esta increíble comunidad escolar.

A lo largo de mi carrera, siempre he creído que la educación tiene más poder cuando las escuelas y las familias trabajan juntas. Una de mis prioridades este año es construir conexiones fuertes y significativas con los estudiantes, las familias y el personal escolar. Estoy comprometida en crear un entorno acogedor en el que cada niño sienta apoyo y se sienta valorado, y en el que las familias sepan que son verdaderos socios en la trayectoria educativa de sus hijos.

Ya quiero conocerlos a cada uno, aprender más lo que hace a Indian Hill tan especial, y crecer juntos al apoyar el desarrollo académico, social y emocional de nuestros estudiantes. Ya sea a través de las experiencias en el salón de clases, eventos escolares o simplemente con una conversación, espero conectarme con ustedes y comenzar amistades duraderas.
